NOTES: A Shares, within the context of Chinese equities, refers to listings of companies incorporated in mainland China that are traded on either the Shanghai Stock Exchange or the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. A Shares are quoted in Renminbi, and may be purchased or traded only by domestic investors living within mainland China, or by Qualified Foreign Institutional investors ("QFI"'s). H Shares, on the other hand, refers to any listing traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

On March 6, 2000, The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, The Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited, and The Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited were merged into a new holding company called Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx). HKEx brings together the market organizations which have transformed Hong Kong's financial services industry from a domestically focused market to become a central market place in Asia attracting investment funds from all over the world.

As a service to our readers, we also provide information on several other non-Hong Kong-listed companies we believe are worthy of attention in the context of Hong Kong A/H shares.
